What do you get when you take elements from the most successful J-RPGs over the last 10 years? Rogue Galaxy is what. A dreadfully messy mish mash as well, but that's another story.
It's amazing what you can do with cel-shading... this is where the PS2 gets to shine like yummy. Ever since Dragon Quest VIII I've gained a healthy respect for cel-shading, and this one takes it even further. Beauty.
Other than that, your average Japanese silly melodrama with a solid action RPG engine and lots and lots of grind. Just what the doctor oredered for Scythe. I'm off to another galaxy with space pirates, evil corporations and dream mushrooms.
