Sorry I haven't been too active around here as of late, I have been lurking. But at the moment I am giving up caffine and sugar so I have a lack of energy and haven't really been doing much (so not much to chat about). Once its out of my system though I'll be back to normal. I was silly enough to go on a major sugar and caffine trip to keep me awake at nights so I could do work, bad thing to do, won't be doing it again.

Hoping the system will be cleansed by next week and that way I can do as I promised and help out properly with the site. Its not that I don't want to (as I wouldn't of said yes if I didn't want to help out) I just sit down at my computer and go to do it and then can't be bothered due to the energy not being there.

Anyway amazon thing, can't remember what I said last, have to wait 2 weeks to see if they get it back...if not then who knows as they never said anything other than contact us in 2 weeks...what else hase been going on, no...thats it...ohh the exciting life I am leading at the moment.

Happy to see your smiling hung over face in here faded :D...

Shame that england got knocked out the world cup, but it was going to happen at some point. There is a England flag in someones garden where I live that is being flown at half mast which I find quite silly. Then again I have never been a football fan, I did watch the ET and penalties yesturday but thats all of the worldcup I have watched. So maybe I jinxed it :p

Well I'm off to bed, I promise to make more of an effort here and other places too :D

Well, Dizi, I know what you mean by the sugar and caffiene lack. I used to live in the same building that had my landlord's office, and I would join him for coffee every morning. After I moved to another one of his properties futher away (Or, rather, he movied me to where it was quieter), and since I don't make a good cup of coffee, I felt a serious lag for a while.

I know this sounds funny coming from me of all people, but the sugar and caffiene trips get you nowhere. I've done them, and if I don't take my medication, I don't sleep either. I used to not take my meds and drink lots of soda just to get computers built all night. Just as you've told me I got to take care of myself, you should take care of yourself too. In the end of the day, Dizi, is your work really worth your health?

Hi everyone

I see that Maz is still going to need the Dark Room for another couple of days, altough it's good to see that he didn't murder all of his neuroniums.

@Dizi

Railo is right, you shouldn't have done that, but once it's done I just hope you don't make the same mistake again. However I am going to forbid you to drink anything from water, natural juices (orange, lemonade, etc.) and tea until your system has been cleansed.

I have just read your extremely longwinded post in the Headquarters of my heretic foes. I was saing it for a later moment, but if you want me to retaliate just say the word and the suffering shall be unleashed upon them :D

no RyM my work isn't more important then my health, thats why I have stopped, plus I gained a bit of weight and need to shift it over summer as its really starting to get on my nerves that my clothes are a little too tight on me now. Plus I know it is better for me to be off it, its why I waited until after all my work was handed in to do this, that way the work was done and I can be as tired or as down as I need to be while it is getting out my system.

SG I don't like water by itself anymore, which is a shame, I think its because of the taps being changed in the flat so it doesn't taste as nice as it used to. So I am adding a little bit of orange to it to give it a nicer taste.
and no need to retaliate, you must pick your moment well and strike when they least expect it :p

Ok honey, just have a natural orange juice and a lemonade for a start. I'll make you some mint tea for you to drink before you go to bed :D

About the retaliation, don't worry, I'll keep the strong cards in the sleeve for the time being.

So what are you planning to do in the next fortnight?

Well, Dizi, I hope you can lose that weight. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. I've been working so hard the past few years to get a business built, working insane hours, and trashing myself, that I went from 34" around to 46" around the waist in a year and a half. Not good at all. I've put on about a hundred pounds through that time. All the McDonalds food, unhealthy snacks at the workbench replacing actual meals. Some of it is medication, though, so that is a factor.

Today, though, I was just relaxing with a good friend and business partner. He also works in apartment management, and gets to supervise their pool, so we were just sutting in lounge chairs for a few hours, on our laptops, with a big 4 gallon dispenser of ice tea, grilling bratworsts. It was nice. Weather could have been better, but it was warm enough to enjoy yourself outside.

For the first time, I felt glad I'm self employed. Get to take breaks like that. I need to do it more often. I hope everyone else enjoyed themselves today, too.

RYM thats all I ate at uni that and ather junk food, it was so much easier then cooking for myself. I went from being around 112 pounds to around 154, so I gained 42 pounds in around about a year. Shock horror I have told you all my weight (are females suposed to do that? :p). Well rather then joining some sliming program and spending money to let them all know how much I weigh, I'll just tell an online community instead:p so yeah I went from being a 24" waist to a 28" and now thats feeling tight I don't wat to go up any higher so its time for a change. When I write it down it doesn't seem that much really 4" but as I am very short so it shows quite a lot. Anyway if I manage to loose a few inches and pounds over this summer I'll be happy :D

I have also been relaxing, started a new thread in here its a sticky in big capital letters and I am hoping that eveyone will give me a hand with this :D

WHAAAAAT.  :?

What in the hell's name have you done to yourself? You're screwed ... big time. As someone who has a lot of experience on both gaining and loosing weight in recent years (my trousers varied between the 44 and the 38 (Continental European size) I lowered from 42 to 38 in less than a month) I can tell you that even if loosing weight is relatively easy for people with our age you have the problem that from now on it'll be much easier to regain weight, unless you can keep your original/base weight for several years and you keep or intensify the exercise you have been doing in this last year.

I don't have here the full recipes that my mother used to lost weight a few years ago, but I'll give you the basic tips:

1- Stay away from Potatoes, Bread, Chocolates, candies, fast food (even Pret-A-Manger)

2- Start by eating only soup (without potatoe), green vegetables (other kinds can also be used) and fruit (apple is great to stave off the hunger

3- Use a lot of olive oil both on cooking and on flavouring the food/dressing the salad, use also a little bit of vinegar.

4- Always drink an orange juice or even better mildly warm water with lemon as soon as you get up.

On a side note Germany was cruelly eliminated in the final minutes of extra-time. I think it is somewhat undeserved because they also featured good chances to score and since it could have gone either end, IMO the enalties would be a fair outcome

This is what I get for going into bars...

Well, Dizi, I sympathise and understand. Before starting university, I weighed in around 72 kg, which was pretty damn fit for my height and all. Near the end, I was at 95 kg. Yikes! So, I took ayear of regular exercise and eating terribly, which is to say I sure didn't gain any weight from my food... I got back down to 75 kg. After having my new job for two years, guess what? Back at 90-something. !

I just started with the exercise again, but changing work schedules means it's really difficult to maintain exercising. I guess I'll be happy with going 10 kg down.

Well, this got me thinking- I need t eat better. SG, I'm taking your advice, and started the day with some orange juice. For lunch I got swedish meatballs, and yesterday, I had a pot roast with corn mixed in. Much healthier than my usual chips and dip, ice cream, and pretzels. :P

Orange Juice squeezed from real oranges or something like sunshine concentrate :P about the rest I maintain my opinion that people in the US and in England have never ate a proper meal in the plast decades :P :D

And just what is a proper meal, in your opinion? Personally, I think it would be a nice piece of meat, preferably beef, with a potato and some corn on the side. Nice old fashioned Midwest dinner.

I think it's a good soup, followed by a plate that can be meat or fish suited with vegetables/salad (or just the later if you're on a diet) and fruit, with the company of a cup of water or wine.

Of course it should vary daily and if you want to add some carrot rice, or spaguetti, beans or cooked potatoes it's allright (providing you don't want to loose weight)

Heh, typical Polish dinner. You just have to add potato puree to meat/fish and replace water/wine with compote (couldnt find any other word for this, at least my dictionary couldnt :P ).

I weighed about 86 kgs in my "best" years, now I weigh about 76 which is still a bit too much for my tastes, but people tell me that I look ok (my mirror tells me otherwise :? ). I lost these additional kgs during holidays about...ummm...4 or 5 years ago...? doing 80 kms per day by bike. However I still suffer from yoyo effect - I gain and lose weight irrespective of how much I eat. I think it's because of not too good metabolism, besides it's probably genetic problem - my parents and their parents and their siblings too always were a bit overweight; not obese - just a little bit overweight.

Just a note. I think I'll be quite away the next week (at least)... Perhaps you can (still) manage without much of my presence :/ If something alarming happens, leave me a PM. I try to see them occasionally.

And now.. I would like to have a beer, a thick steak, some potatoes with butter and preferably some beacon too. All talk about salads and losing weight makes me dead hungry!
