Cabals: The Card Game is a trading card board game for iPhone, iPad, Android devices and browsers.

In Cabals: The Card Game the goal is to win either by storming the opponent's Stronghold or by dominating the game board. Both players use their own deck of cards that gives them a selection of unique units and abilities. Two different ways to win makes sure that there are countless different ways to try and overcome the opponent. The board introduces a completely new tactical aspect to trading card games. It makes clever positioning a big part of the game, and changes shape from match to match, inviting the players to alter their approach depending on the environment.

Cabals is an online multiplayer game and is free to download and play, however you can buy extra cards if you upgrade to premium membership. You can also practice in single-player offline mode.

Anyway, this looks like a ripoff (or inspired by if you want it diplomatically) of a collectible tile game I have lying about somewhere in physical form.

FAQ mentions that premium membership allows you to grow strong faster - you will collect more powerful cards without premium anyway, but it will take more time. Or something along these lines.

Yah, it's the usual deal. Wanna be competitive, drop some cash. Playable without it, but you'll get squashed like a bug.
