"Golden Pearl" is a traditional sidescrolling shmup game. But instead the usual spaceship you control a little sea otter floating on his back and you have to fight evil frogs, sharks, crabs, mermaids and other creatures to protect the golden pearl. There are 16 levels, lots of boss fights, power ups and weapons.
The whole game is very cute, colorful, cartoonish and overall well designed! Unfortunately it runs a little slow on my computer (seems to be a problem with many GameMaker games). But I still could see that it is good fun to play.

Re: Golden Pearl
It looks cute, but is it also easy? It seems every screenshot downwards you double your amount of lives... Or are they posted in the wrong "direction".

Re: Golden Pearl
To be honest, I stole the pictures from a development thread, so they are probably "faked" (the score is the exact same in all three pictures). The game needs about 15 minutes to even start on my computer (a typical problem with some GameMaker games) and then it runs quite slow and so I wasn't in the mood to play it that way just to take screenshots.
But when I played it some time ago, it wasnt that hard. But on the other hand that was probably because it was that slow that I could easily avoid enemies and obstacles of all kind. So you should better try it yourself to get a fair impression.
