A-Ball

Post by eMTe »

Isometric arkanoid with elements of pinball and shooter and tons of cool stuff instead of dull bricks.

Absolutely awesome for a freeware game. Kudos to Gametop. Beautifully detailed graphics, and lots of unique levels. Lots of different bricks and objects with different functions. And an overall feel of quality.

Did you?

THE BEST BREAKOUT CLONE EVER!!!! (Competing with Breakout itself).

This might be one of my new favourite games. I sat down and played for hours on my first run. I got to level 38 and ...wait for it... SAVED my game for later! Amazing feature!
I got some laundry done and gave Anna a bath but still I got through 37 levels of pure fun, and never got the feeling of playing the same level over and over. The features they implemented in this version simply adds so many possibilities to the game that new levels could be made in hundres without feeling any kind of repetivity. Go try this!
Currently testing Life version 2.9 (With added second child)
(Beta testing in progress)

I played it for a while and I'm not that amazed. I mean it is a good Breakout clone without any question, but it isn't that special. There are several power-ups that I have seen in many games before and just a few that are unique.

What I don't like is that the game isn't very fast-paced. In my eyes this is a main element of every Breakout game and this one is just too slow. And technically it isn't perfect. Sometimes I lost balls even when I touched them with the bat (and I'm very sure that I really touched them).

But as said before it is a nice game and it has great graphics and fine music. And I really like that it has a save feature, which is something that most arcade game don't have.

I am really interested what's the policy of creators of games published by GameTop. Here

you can BUY the game which is actually A-Ball, only under different name. This is really strange.
