Implausible Mission

Post by Pater Alf »

While talking about "Impossible Mission" in the C64 quiz, I remembered that there is a nice remake of this classic game.

You take the role of a secret afent that breaks into the home of a mad scientist and has to search for several pieces of a code card (or whatever it should be). Unfortunately the whole place is guarded by robots and the the scientist isn´t very pleased about his guest. And so he speaks a well-known line: "Another visitor! Stay well, stay forever!!!"

Ok, maybe I´m wrong and it was "Stay a while! Stay forever!"...

You could be perfectly right. I wouldn't know. Artificial speech wasn't top of the line back then. :)

It's not as if I ever thought Impossible Mission was a very fun game, but at least this remake makes it a helluva lot easier. Jumping robots has never been this simple.

When you strip it down, Impossible Mission has very little to offer, and so, consequently, does Implausible Sameness. What I, personally, would have liked to see is more interesting graphic backgrounds. They were spiffing up the graphics anyway...

But I know IM has its fans, and for their sakes, this is a decent remake that replicates the original, with complete randomness (so sometimes you find everything in one minute, sometimes you're stuck in impossible rooms).
