Indeed I forgot it on my list. I spent hours and hours on this one. Playing the huge galaxy on the impossible mode. Most of the time it was suicide...

The Darloks of course, I enjoyed playing them alongside the Humans, Klackons, Silicoids and these frog-like creatures that had a population benefit..

I never liked the Alkaris or the Mrrshans however...

Yes, Darloks were my favourite race, but I asked if anyone can guess the another race I enjoyed playing with ;) And to give you a hint, that race was not mentioned by Usul :D

Righty Right Usul!
You do not by any chance happend to know any other games similar to MOO1 ? And no, I do not consider MOO2 or 3 as similar to MOO1... I was utterly disappointed when I tried them out... But I still believe that if MOO4 was made, I would propably want to try it out too :/

Why is it so? One successfull game is enough and people will buy crappy sequels one after another.. :/

Absolutely right Maz, I'm thinking about it and there is no sequel that is better than (maybe for an exception: Space Quest III was the climax of that series) the first part. At the best, the sequel is equal.

I considered MoO to be a very unique game und unfortunately I don't knw any games similar to it...Haven't tried yet...but have you taken a look at Galactic Civilizations?

Actually I have never heard of it... I'd better investigate that :) Thanks Usul!

One game stands the test of time in my mind;

Star control 2 - The Ur-Quan masters

Perfection and glory! This is the path of now and forever!
Everything is there; Action, adventure, planet mining, diplomacy, great music, great plot and above all great dialog! Loving it since 1994.

Other great titles, almost every single one mentioned once or more in this thread:

Civilization
UFO - Enemy unknown (Or X-com - Ufo defense)
Ultima VII - The Black gate and Serpent isle
Colonization
Master of Magic
Secret of Monkey island 1 and 2
LOOM
Indiana Jones and the fate of Atlantis
Nethack
Staff of Karnath

My all-time favourite, if adventure games are not counted, Special Forces by Microprose.

That was a real game.
