LOGO AND BANNER CONTEST

Post by Chroelle »

After looking over our clickrate on my poorly designed banners, and ads I decided that we need a better profile outwards. That is why I am hereby announcing a LOGO-DESIGN contest.

We need a logo to go with the toppart of the forum.
Color is up to the designer. It should be about what the site is about and somewhat interesting.

We also need a banner-ad. Actually two. We need one that is:
SQUARE: 125x125 pixels
LEADERBOARD: 160x600 pixels.

The grandprice will be:
A smashing
20$ to the winner
and
10$ to the runnerup.

Both ads will be used in advertising CWF.

We are a non-profit organisation so we only have the prizes we pay ourselves.

The competition will not end until after we get at least 3 worthy designsuggestions. (unless of course there is no submissions for months)

Everyone is allowed to enter the competition and all submissions will be judged equally. I am the ultimate judge unless I feel that someone else should join me. This keeps the competition open to more members, and ultimately it is my money that is going out here. :D

All entries into the competition should be reported here, and all comments and questions should be posted here.

ANY MEMBERS WHO WISH TO ENTER SOLELY INTO THE LOGO OR THE BANNER DESIGN PART OF THE CONTEST WILL BE TREATED AS ANY OTHER PARTICIPANT. But the pricemoney will be negotiated according to which contest.

I hope to hear from many of you.

Prizes can be paid through Paypal, or as banktransfers.
(As banktransfers the transfercost is deducted from the prize).

I like them all too, but the middle one may be a bit hard to decipher for someone who doesnt know site's name.

Anyway, we dont have to use only one banner and the contest isnt over, right? ;)

Very true on every point there. I am thinking in banners, ads and logos in general, so if anyone has an idea for something to be depicted please let us know. Even ideas about game-chars depicted etc should be mentioned. Maybe someone has the skills to do something about it.

I'd say the leftmost has the potential. Maybe in different colours or something (the gamepad in site's two blues instead of orange? I don't know).

Maybe Zyx is using subsilver, like me, in which, by the way, the existing CWF banner is malfunctioning...

Isn't there an option in phpbb adminstration to force people's themes up to date?

There is option to force a style. But I've tried to keep subsilver up to date with my changes. (as well as Spanek an Maz styles). I should be able to change the banners... When I can use both of my hands some day... ATM my left hand is constantly reserved for holding a baby, a bottle, a napkin or a ciggie

I like the picture, but I dislike the "mirror image" of CWF text. I would've written CWF with a bit bigger font, and left the mirrored part out.

I like this, but before we go with it we should decide what cwf should look like. In general. Should it be deep blue/serious or colourful/cool. If it stays as it is now (blueish, noble and calm) this logo is great. :D
