Interviews summary

Post by eMTe »

Thought it would be good to create an info thread for iviews. Who was already interviewed, who replied positively to request, who needs to be reinterviewed and such... Hereby, foreseeing upcoming glory days and flood of interviews, I create this topic...

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A Tale of Two Kingdoms (Pieter Simoons) - asked by eMTe, awaiting reply

Death Worm (JTR)

Eye of the Kraken - asked by eMTe looong time ago, positive reply

Nick Bounty, Goat in Grey Fedora, Nearly Departed, Brain Hotel (Mark Darin) - asked by Chroelle over a year ago, positive reply

Privateer remake (Jason "MamiyaOtaru" Winzenried)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Please update this topic if needed.

Good idea eMTe. I think it would be good to have such a list. I am not sure if we need to list wether we have positive replies from them though, as I tend to ask anyway when I initiate contact to do an interview.
But I am not against it. :D
I am however considering if the game hunter forum is the right place for it... Maybe the feedback section would be better, since members ould use this thread to request interviews. What do you think? (I also want to disclose as much activity to the public as possible as I have seen lots of times where there have been 20 new posts in a day, and when I look it over only 2-3 of them were visible to the public. That means that they wont register activity and might think the forum is dead...

I had some problems finding this. There was no link in the main page and I thought Game Developer interview would have been found under 'Freeware Development', 'Freeware Games' or 'Freeware Debate'.

Besides the link above doesn't work for me, so I still haven't read the first interview

What?! The link works perfectly for me... well, not the Privateer one, but was that interview ever completed?

There's another link on the frontpage, but I'm guessing it's the same one.

Well the link on the frontpage should work, but the one about privateer should certainly not. The interview stalled after the guy we were supposed to interview never returned to Maz...

It seems that the link didn't work because I was using another board style. Also that was the reason why there was no link on the mainpage. With subsilver things works perfectly. Finally I saw the interview :)

Which board style did you use? It should be in all styles... (unless you are using your own???)

I could, but it would take quite some time. Currently I have so little spare time, that I'm not going to even think about it. Sorry.

Perhaps next spring...

I think I can do the interview with him, as I'm in contact with him anyway. But it may take some weeks, before I'll find the time...

Cool. I have a standard interview blueprint if you want it. It might be good for filler. :)

I added a 'display list of interviews' page. It's accessible from a link in the header fiels. Coding is ugly as hell, so I must fix it when we get more interviews up. Even with 20 interviews, the generating the list will cause some problems to MySQL server... (THAT's bad coding if anything ^_^)

I asked the questions in the bugs thread. :D

I am awaiting some interviews soon, so I think we can lean back and await that particular section to grow. :D
Could you PM me how to add interviews, or is that the same as before?

I am thinking of doing some quick interviews of these games' developers:
The Spirit Engine
Star Wars: Both battle of Yavin and Endor in seperate interviews (We should since there will most likely be more games from this developer and it seems weird to interview about more than one game if it is not possible to point out more than one game he made. Can we change that Maz?)
Battle of Wesnoth
Racer
Freecol
Warzone 2100
Leylines
Apprentice series
Nick Bounty series.
I will make threads regarding each game when the time comes. I think that might be tomorrow, but if not then then pretty surely not during next week. I have a crazy workweek ahead of me....:(

EDIT: If you didn't notice then that is the top 10 games (not counting the oneas already done). And I am still awaiting interviews from The New Satan Sam and Highway Pursuit (and a couple fo others which has taken their time).

This should maybe be updated a bit, but that might take a while. Please remind me so that I can add it to the bug-tracker as I have to go now.
