Hey, this is cheating!

But clever nonetheless. :D

How about a top-down-view flying shooter where action scrolls diagonally, from bottom left corner to top right corner?

I think such game has already been created, I remember reading about it at indiegames or maybe it was even posted here at CWF. To twist your senses more, the background also constantly changes. I dont remember the title unfortunately.

..Doing AGameAWeek makes you miss buttloads of interesting looking Indie games.. *sigh*
(But, no, I meant that the gravity would be static, just the level spinning, so walls/floors/ceilings all get screwed about)

How about a platformer played backwards in time? There's sequence of events which already "happened", like falling on spikes, dying in certain places etc. and the goal is to reconstruct these events, scoring points for doing right things in right places.

How about a hotseat or or online platformer where at least two players are required to navigate the character - one is responsible for moving, another for shooting. Variations include three to n players (running/jumping/shooting etc.).

How about a game of Sokoban in the dark, where the player only sees where his torch lights up, but can't push/pull blocks unless they put the torch down. (*definitely adds this one to the list*)

How about a mmo minimalistic game where you are connected to web via special device reading your body state and you are represented online by simple pixel-based symbol:either circle, triangle or square(depends on your emotions:circle-relaxed,triangle-anxious,square-self_confident/aggressive)and you wander around a black background simply passing by other players?

How about a game where you drive a bus, but can't go OVER 50mph! Now that would be a twist... a boring one, but a twist nonetheless...

I take it you haven't heard about Desert Bus? Action-packed video of adrenaline-filled gameplay.

How about a game where the player has to collect items, but can't magically pocket everything like in normal games, so needs to string all the objects together, (maybe collecting extra string and boxes along the way) and then pull them through the level to the exit.

How about an adventure game(based on the Groundhog Day idea, but not necessarily similar in theme)where you get no clues of what to do(how to live your day) and you beat the game only if you make thousands of various steps in correct time and order?

I just wanted to post an idea about a clever game for visually impaired people, but accidentally found that there's a dedicated portal for such ideas. So I'll just post the links.

Forums are frequented by spambots, but there are interesting posts to be found inbetween all the trash.

How about a winter-themed game where everything (player's character [a snowman possibly?], npcs, backgrounds, projectiles, collectibles) is made of snow and the physical characteristics of snow, ice and water are applied to the gameplay?

Having not yet started his Year 4 of AGameAWeek, and knowing that his first month will be "Evil Tutorials", Jayenkai reads the above post, and imagines it thusly.
Tutorial : How to use the GUI to make your happy snowman friend Bob into a lovely snowcastle, and use his nose to feed a raindeer!
\o/yeay\o/
Level 1 : Fire Breathing Dragon attacks!! You all die.

How about a game where you eat so many mince pies that you become too fat, and can no longer complete the level..
Merry Christmas Everyone!
