.eu Domains?

Post by Tank »

It's possible to register a .eu Domain since April 7th. What do you think about it? Or do you already have one? Share your thoughts about it! I'm curious.

Well it seems a bit weird to me. And it's more expensive than getting a .dk and a .com adress. So why would you?

I even thought about it seriously, but there might be some problems. If a company like Google or eBay decide they want that domain - and you already registered it - they might sue you. And they would win. And losing a case againt Google or eBay might be very eypensive for you!

I don't see the point myself. Yes you can have a name that is already registared as .com .org .net .co.uk .dk and all the other ones out there but unless you are a big eu buisness then I don't see the point of it at all. Why not be different if it is just for yourself or for a little site you want to make...if all the others are taken its not such a unique thought really is it :p

Maybe someone thinks it sounds better than fx .com?

Why call it www.oldgames.nu instead of www.oldgames.com? I think it's because Christian thoughd it sounded better :P Might be someone who have it the same way with .eu ;)

Just to clarify .nu means .now in Danish. But it also implicates NEW. So it is a rather functional ending to a name.

I thought it was .nu because it was a cheap domain to registar, but that might have just been my thought on it and not the actual reason. Never did chat to christian much...think only once.

and either way .nu as now or new it works :D
