i just got a new computer and just formated it to get windows xp, but i have a problem.

Brand Seagate
Type ST3500630AS
Family Barracuda 7200.10
Form Factor 3.5"

Is your XP CD A Service Pack 2 disk? You need SP2 to recognize the full 500 GB during setup.

The obvious suggestion would be to plug in the cord, but since you have already done that and it seems your computer went offline after you downloaded the SP2 pack then... When did the computer go offline? What had you just been doing and do you get any errormessages...?
