GTA 3 - San Andreas

Post by Chroelle »

Well I just started playing this a few days ago. I tend to get stuck in it.

I am stuck on the Big Smoke Mission "OG LOC" since my PC tends to stall a bit when I follow the guy on the motorbike downhill, which tends to make me crash. On one occasion I actually got to the freeway and when I crashed into a car that was going the opposite way OG LOC went over the side of the freeway. So no matter how fast I was up and on the bike again, going after the guy, it told me that I had left OG LOC behind....

I am finished with all Smoky and Ryder missions. So when I have patience I normally loose it by trying the OG LOC mission out af few times... When I don't have patience I just drive around and cap Ballas or track dealers to get their huge vallets.

Do you play it, and what missions are you stuck at?

HAve you found any great things within the game. I have recently started so I haven't found that many, but I played pool in 10 green bottles bar, basejumped off the tallest building in town, and played videogames in a danceclub...

I completed the game not long ago, especially the 'learn to fly' mission was about to give me a nervous breakdown. Too difficult!
Have you already discovered the various girlfriends? can be fun ;)

Now I introduce some modded cars into the game, because I find the original cars quite dull, they can be found here:

There are some cool ones in there. I especially like the Delorean. I know about the girlfriends but haven't found any yet. Are they available from the beginning?

I haven't come out of the first city yet, but have tried escaping once. I didn't go well

I am thinking that maybe I should set my graphics settings way down so the computer won't stall when I drive, and then set them back up when I have finished the mission...

You will meet your first girlfriend during a mission in your hood, so go for all the missions available, you'll find Denise who lives just next to you.

Have you seen the Audi Quattro or the '74 Audi 100 Coupé ? Amazing work.
Unfortunately, most of the cars are tuned ps-monsters. I prefer the normal, older cars ;)

Do they all work with GTA - SA?
I will do like you did and enter them when I completed the game. How long did it take you to finish it?
I've been stuck in a couple of missions already. It seems it has been too long since I played a GTA game. It's been more than a year I think since I put Vice city back on the shelve.
And it doesn't help me that the System Requirements have gone up for GTA-SA. :(

I bought this game when it first came out here, and nevre had a chance to play it due to 13hr shifts I was doing at the time :(

Now that I have time I have been playing other games and its just been gathering dust on the shelf, maybe I'll play it at some point.

The cars in the list all work for SA, of course there are others for Vice City and GTA 3. Each time you install a new car, an original car from the game has to be removed. I work with the 'San Andreas Mod Installer', just a few clicks and everything is fine.

The game took me about 30-35 hours to complete, there are a few missions that are extremely difficult, especially the flying school, and the related missions for the FBI agent. As I told you before, I had several nervous breakdowns. The final mission ist extremely hard too, it takes nearly 15 minutes to finish it.

It can be easier later in the game, if you complete the ambulance-missions or the fire department-missions earlier, so you can benefit from the bonus of supplementary health (ambulance) or armour (police - only fair with a tank) or resistance to fire (firedepartment) later in the missions.

There also some funny things like the pimp-missions with the result that the whores pay you if you pick them up (just get into a 'Broadway') or the Taxi-Missions (after you have done 50 guests, all taxis will have Nitro).
In each town you can do races to gain money or do dirttrackraces in the stadium. There are so many things...well, have fun! :)

I bought San Andreas the day it was released for the Xbox. I was addicted for while, but now I'm sort of in the finding Horseshoes, Tags, unique jumps, and clam mode. I haven't really finished the game, I think I'm stuck doing the casino missions.

For a while I was so bored with it that I would fly the jets as high as possible and then jump out and watch them crash, or fly under all the bridges.

I think the mission that gave me the biggest trouble was definitely that one where you have to take back that rapper's mansion, I played that too many times, it drove me bonkers.

I almost finished it - it was by far the easiest GTA I've tried, except for some flight missions - but got bored during the final gang wars and uninstalled it. I don't think any mission had me stuck for very long with the exception of the impossibly hard to maneuver flight missions, especially the flight training ones. Oh, and I was stuck for a while on the diver mission, because I had to build up lung capacity, which took forever. :p

Grrr... mission End of the Line makes me mad; I've got to the very end of it both the times I've tried it (it's bleeding long), and died... seeing the finish in my eyes. -_-

By far the most annoying mission was a lot closer to the beginning of the game, though; the one where one has to chase a train and that well-eaten whatshisname tries to shoot the Vagos gang members... it's the only mission I've not been able to pass myself (tried it perhaps 30 times); trifu-san finished it for me back in summer 2004 when he was visiting me, and in spring 2005 my best friend tried it once and passed it immediately. :|

Other missions, _especially_ the awesome aeroplane missions have been very cool and pretty much alright to complete. ;) CJ in his crupier outfit and with a silenced pistol, totally cool.

I am funny enough totally stuck in the same mission that you mention. I am running a dirtbike alongside the train while BS (Big SMoke) tries to take out soem gangmembers. I have tried it a good 30 times now, and never succeeded. I am always down to my last vargos man, and he has been shot at for a while, but refuses to die before we get to the end....

I have tried doing lots of stuff on this mission differently, but nothing have helped. If anyone can give me some hints....
I know that I should run alongside the first cart, and that I should ride a bit out from the train so BS don't just shoot at the train in stead of the Vargos. Is there anything else I can do...Helping shortcuts...?

Control is what this, and indeed, many of the future missions are going to need...

You need to get on the dirtbike ASAP - clicking to skip the cut screen of the train leaving the station will give you precious seconds.

Motorcycle control - the train will go slow until it passes the level crossing and will then speed up. Ignore Smoke - he won't fall off - just concentrate on getting up beside the engine and staying level with it and the four dudes on the roof.... if you stay there, Smoke will kill all these guys, no problem.

Usually by the time the train exits the first tunnel I have killed all 4.

Indeed. You really need to keep the bike level with the train. I believe that's the key. I got it in three takes. :)

Scythe's comments has reminded me that there are trainers available which can raise your skill level for the bike (or indeed raise any skill) so if all else fails have a look for these - one I'm thinking of is by a guy called PiZZAbox - you'll find some of his stuff here...

I'll look into it...

Are there any trainers that are more adjustable than others??? I would like something where I can adjust which bonuses I get... I don't want all of them...

I really haven't looked too deeply into the 'trainers' (as cheat tools seem to be called these days).... it's possible that you can tweak individual stats (such as bike riding) with some of the more complex trainers... you'd really have to check some of them out...
