If picture is a thousand words..

I was cleaning hd space and decided these games must stay. Because of the savegames.

This is how retro gamer's folder looks like.

And yes, I progress in all those games a bit, from time to time. 8)

Half-Life turns 20 years this year. Your screenshot also reminds me that I never played the Laura Bow games...

I think Igor refers to the Igor: Project Uikokahonia? I never played the full game, or... maybe I did, I can't remember.

Laura Bow 2 has fantastic setting/atmosphere whose quality (not the setting itself, as they are different) probably inspired Gabriel Knight directly. However there are problems with continuity in second chapter, or at least this is how I feel it. Game's npcs follow their own agendas, similarly to Lure of the Temptress, but it looks to me that Sierra's coders took too much on their chests and game breaks at times. But I am not sure, I tried the second chapter two times and produced two different bugs/dead ends/continuity errors, whatever they are. Never finished the game. You play it and tell me, like in 2028 or something.

Laura Bow 1 never got to me, maybe because I tried it much later. It has interesting eavesdropping system though, very original.

On a less literary and apoCAlyptic note.

Space Quest V. Unexpectedly, I have progressed. After a decade (?). I just fired the game up out of boredom and managed to solve the android problem (the one which tries to kill you [android, not the problem] on a rocky planet). So I am now deep deep into the game. And I don't like it. SQ5 has beautiful background art, but some character animations look like taken from a game 3 years older, also there's problem with the narrative. Game is a chain of largely unconnected comedy scenes and puzzle types, but that type of narrative should flow seamlessly to work. Here it doesn't. Overall, it feels like those blockbuster Hollywood movies which had everything - the money, the idea, possibly interesting characters, but end up completely soulless.

Or when you meet Paul Cuisset and admit that it's 2018 and you still haven't progressed in Cruise for a Corpse..

Any other WoW nerds in here besides me? I'm having a blast with Battle for Azeroth right now.

I may have not progressed in CfaC, but I have progressed in Sam'n'Max. Today afternoon.

And again in the same fashion. Replaying the game from scratch and progressing further than ever the very same day, after being stuck for years. I am beginning to believe that this is some psychological issue or maybe even a brain's characteristics that I have discovered or is already known and named, unawarely to me.

I have progressed VERY FAR in Gabriel Knight a couple of weeks ago. This is strange feeling, to progress in a game which you don't believe you will finish before your death. And of course I used the above method: starting over. Day by day (in-game days) and all of a sudden: voila! I discover the solution simply by using different icon in different place than during previous runs.

I have progressed far enough to not like the game (for reasons I'm not going to disclose) as much as I loved it previously, so now I am not even sure if I really want to keep it on the finish-before-death list.

Oh, and I have progressed in Cruise for a Corpse (yeah, starting over). I promised Paul Cuisset to try harder and I really tried harder as in "just sit down in your chair eMTe and fight this game like a true fighter".

Other than these, I am playing Jim Power for Lemon Amiga competition.

23.16  17.07.2019

On the day 17th of July, A.D. 2019, at 11:16 pm I made the history and progressed in Out of Order. Surprisingly, without The Method; I just started from old save and checked what could I have missed. I didn't miss anything, it took just adding two and two and overcoming my traditional impatience.

Hooray for me. Out of Order is one of my all-time favourite games.

Surprising, for me at least, I've been playing Grand Theft Auto San Andreas quite a bit lately. It's one of those games I wouldn't have thought I'd liked, but loved it as soon as I tried it. Having been involved in court cases against municipal and police corruption, misconduct and corruption at a certain transit agency, having suffered MASSIVE retaliation for it, the plot of GTA:SA really speaks to me. Plus I found some mods for it, specifially mods for the trains in game. The trains are OK by default, the locomotives are quite recognizable as F40PH and SD-40-2 types, and the passenger coaches decent representations of Amtrak California service cars, I downloaded a couple mods to make them look much more realistic.
Without trains America Stops- Support Amtrak

Old trains never die. They just sit in ruin and wait until the day they are taken in by a skilled craftsman and rebuilt to their former glory.

Don't let resentment feeling take advantage of you. Also, never treat what you deeply believe in as a rule of thumb.

Otherwise, you will bomb everyone in your vicinity and you will become a fundamentalist for whatever you believe The Cause is.

Try to cool down and think of yourself just as an element of an erratic timespace. Thing is, it's much funnier than being a crusader. There are numerous testimonies to prove that.

It's simply much better for your body and mind to think of the railroad games they will develop and you will play, rather than thnking about bad past. One cannot change the past, so why care.

Look at me. I try to post the worst sh|tposting one can imagine, but it's just the game I play. Whatever I have experienced belongs to the past, by the very nature I posted about it. Who am I to understand what came before the waves?

Hope everyone is doing well.

I am currently playing Qbeh-1 The Atlas Cube. It's a relaxing puzzle game i open up and progress in a little bit from time to time.

I have completed some games recently:
- Hitman: Codename 47. I played it when i was younger, but finally completed it after taking it up again.
- All the recent Tomb Raider games: Tomb Raider, Rise of the Tomb Raider, Shadow of the Tomb Raider
- The Fall, and The Fall, Part 2: Unbound - These are very good games with some interesting thoughts about consciousness and free will, and bypassing / overcoming your programming.
- What Remains of Edith Finch - A really interesting and moving interactive movie.
- Psychonauts - Recently started this game up again, and finally completed it this time.

Recently i have gotten a little better at archiving my save games instead of just deleting them along with the game when i get tired of it. Then i may start it up again later, and progress further, instead of having to start from the beginning again.

My gaming folder shows that last modifications are for games: Cirque de Zale, Dark Sun 1, Police Quest 1, Blue Force, Last Half of Darkness, Syberia and Trackmania Nations. All of these replays from the beginning in my typical fashion, except Last Half... which is new to me. Very likeable game, if you're into bad horror movies.
