0 A.D.

Post by Pager »

0 A.D. is a FreeWare RTS project being developed by WildFire Games, the same developer which completed the "Rome at War" mod for Age of Empires II.

Check out the website here: WildFire Games - 0 A.D.

0 A.D., however is a completely new project being built upon an engine being solely built by the WildFire team themselves.

The game thus far does not have a set completion date, but is currently still in production.

Project Details: The game's focus is set on the history of the Roman interaction that took place from the eras of 500 B.C. to 500 A.D., with primary focus being set in the B.C. for the first edition then moving towards A.D. for future expansion. Extra care is being taken to ensure historical accuracy, to further enhance the gameplay.

Development Details:According to WildFire Games, the project is still in "pre-alpha" stage, meaning that most of the preproduction work has been completed, and they are now focusing on the development of the engine as well as concept art, modelling and texturing.

It's hard to find what was done and what is to be done, so for those really impatient forums are the best choice.

Btw, they decided to make the game open-source in the meantime to get more help and it seems it worked.

I think I will wait with the download until it is at least in Beta state.

They started a crowdfunding campaign to speed up development of the game:
