Good to see you Pitk :) Where have you been??? Hasn't the UNI been nice to you or?

Anyways, I hope you're going to stay for a while... I am sure I can at least find some testing for you ... ;) :p

Oh, I've been nowhere; uni sure takes a little of my time, but I must say that with the OS-tan Collections site picking up activity, I've not really had the time/interest in other websites enough to participate anymore... I read all there is to read here and on a handful of other forums (or fora), but don't post as I have nothing to really say. v_v

Good to see you, Maz, though. How're the wife and kiddo? ^^

Oh, and SFault-san shares the birthday with Fuu Hououji! He just cannot be a bad person. ^o^ Happy birthday, Segmentation Fault-san. ^^

Echo to the sentiments about not making this another OG. I was a little scared about voicing opinion so my meek tongue-in-cheek opposition was all that registered just now. And now I'm left without much to add :p

eMTe's thoughts are good. Much more in keeping with what this place is supposed to be about, and I'd have fewer qualms about honoring those who are bringing the site closer to its goal of becoming a premier domain for freeware.

And hi Pitkin. First time I've bumped into you since coming here :)

IMO: When we have 5,000 members, we can talk about individual awards... There's nothing like seeing the two active members of a small forum patting each others' backs (exaggerating here, but...).

Otherwise, Chroelle, just PM the new members and tell them they're stellar. ;) Hey guys, you are stellar! I'm not just saying that.

Say, Pitkin, who is this Fuu? I'm kind of curious now.

I hope everyone is well today, in the Northern Hemisphere's cold weather. I'm getting over the flu myself.

I don't think this site will ever be another OG, personally. First off, there can be only one OG, with it's personality, but even so, the focus of this site and its setup is radically different. Only the people remain the same, so it will be what we make of it.

As for CWF awards I would like to add the category of "Lasziest Game Hunter" :roll: , "Most active member", and remove the lifetime achievement because the site is too damn young. Also I believe we could instore an award called" Destroyer of Worlds/Personas" to be awarded to person who caused more mayhem, havoc and incinerated, froze or just removed a fewlimbs to other forum members

And Howdy Pitkin, how are you doing?

I think my main problem is Parvini, your making out like this is a replacment OG...again.
I'm not doing that at all, I was just basing the structure of the awards on the OG awards from last year as a starting point. Just for the record, I don't think this is a replacement for OG at all, but I do acknowledge that many of the members here were once of OG - we can all agree on that right? The idea of a "best newbie" were people who came to this site without really being part of the old OG community - I think that is what Chroelle was trying to get at.

Anyway - I agree with the general sentiment that the awards should be a fun thing and less people centric - I know the site IS young but I am thinking of establishing a tradition here at the end of our first year - I thought "Lifetime Achievement" sounded a little odd when I was typing it - so, without further ado let me unveil my new list based on feedback. I think about 10-12 awards is enough:

Most Drunken Bar Award [for poster most seen freuqenting the bar]

Best "Newbie" [details above]

Best Thread (games-related)[thread starter collects award]

Best Thread (non-games related) [thread starter collects award]

Worst Thread (any) [thread starter collects award]

Best Game (on Site) [user who submitted collects award]

Best Linked Game (on forum) [user who submitted collects award]

Smilie of the Year [I suspect we'll be seeing a certain green ballon :roll:]

Most Entertaining Single Post

Outstanding Contribution Award [for the member who has done most for the site]

Is this starting to look a bit more fun and something we could all have a little excitement about? :D

You can start discussing your nominations right away:

http://curlysworldoffreeware.com/viewforum.php?f=29

I have left space for 2 more awards which can be added later, if people have any further awards they'd like to see.

Fuu. ^__^

Here's a shrine for her: http://fuuhououji.org/shrine/shrine_atrium.html

It's the oldest bookmark I have. Unfortunately the site's terribly outdated nowadays, some parts not working anymore, and the date showing is bugged since the turn of the millennium. v_v

Mind you, her colour is green, and her element is the wind. ^^

Ok just justifying my reputation.

I'm drunk since lunch time and I am going to make a fool of myself by singing "Just drinking in Heaven/The Bar/The Rain/Hell"

Just Drinking in The Bar;
Àpanhar uma piela do cuaralho;
Chuging a Beer Jar;
Tropeçando no Espantalho;

I'm Drinkinng in Heaven;
With a Hot girl by my side;
Just banging on the den;
Rolling over my big pride;

I'm Drinking in the rain;
Catching a god damn cold;
Just alone in the drain;
Cursing why I'm so old;

I'm Driking in Hell;
Just Burning my soul;
I just want to yell:
GET ME OUT OF THIS HOLE

Thank you so much, you have been a wonderful audience :Clap: :coolbounce: :P :wink:
