I know, and we will :D

Its actually quite great, that since we have so much to do in the apartement time simply flies...
She is in week 26 now and it seems only yester-week that she was halfway (ED: A pregnancy lasts aprox 40 weeks.)

But on another note. Did anyone see Casino Royale - 007 yet?

I did! Did you know that both the bad guys in the movie are Danes? Jesper Christensen as Mr. White and Mads Mikkelsen as Le Chifre.
Actually it seems Danes are crawling in to the Bond market recently... Ulrich Thomsen did something a couple of years ago, and a Danish model was a Bond-babe a few years back...
Funny thing is that they are never called Danish. Le Chifre was called Albanian in C.R.-007.

Albanian terrorist funders are more likely than Danish ones... I like it how one review I read called Mads Mikkelsen a cross between Marilyn Manson and Edward Scissorhands.

I would not compare him to Marilyn Manson, but definently to Edward Scissorhands... I can clearly see scenes where you could compare the two. Did you see it yet?

on a brighter side, the games shop I got my pre-ordered my wii from phoned today and had mine ready for me, I got Zelda and rayman and as they had a deal on where I would save some money if I got another game I got Wii play as well which came with a free controller :D

Hey, congrats. That was almost launch. :) Still no games for the Wii I want, thankfully. ;) All these consoles are becoming an expensive hobby.

In other news I modified my PS2 to play imported games. Yay! Now for some Shadow Hearts: From the New World.

Oh, and I missed that question, Curlster. My regular movie partner hasn't been able to find the time for Casino Royale, so I've missed it so far, sadly.

You want an expensive hobby? Try model railroading. Three days ago I bought a 9 amp power pack with walkaround throttle (This means I can walk around my railroad with a tethered throttle, but disconnect it and reconnect it at invervals where I install a jack for it, so I'm not bound to a single control seat). The cost of such a toy? $165, but I can run ten trains at the same time comfortably.

I haven't seen any movies lately, so I can't say I've seen Casino Royale.

Congrat's Chroelle. I don't really know what else to say, but I do hope your baby is healthy.

I already have an expensive hobby that isn't consoles. ;) This year I've spent in excess of $2000 on collectible card games... probably even more come to think of it. Better not keep tabs.

You guys have to much money, if you were poor (or cheapstake) like me you would be "borrowing" yours most expensive hobby items.

The only hobby I still spend money (besides the games I find at bargains) it's books for reading

Well, SG, I've done my time in poverty too, as a fledging PC tech and through certification.

I have a website sale conference call scheduled for tomorrow. I work with a partner in that business, and due to his schedule, he usually handles conference calls. Depending on the features the customer wants, it could mean anywhere from $600 to $1500 in my pocket. Yeah!

Well you can still be rich and cheapstakes like Uncle Scrooge or the "old-rich".

Thatway, you could save up a little money to go with your girlfriends to far-away places on vacations.

I'm sure the Aussies wouldn't mind receiving you on the hollidays

I've been talking to Chroelle about doing a 2006 CWF awards.

These are going to based on the 2005 OG Awards (which I'm not continuing this year, for reasons we all know).

Anyway, I'm looking to see what awards people would like to see.

Currently I'd got the following, based on applicable old OG awards that can be "ported" here and a couple of suggestions from Chroelle:

Best Bar Poster (figured we have only one bar princess now ;))

Best Newbie (for posters who do not have a 4 year, 2000 post history on OG)

Best Thread (games-related)

Best Thread (non-games related)

Worst Thread (any)

Funniest Member

Poster of the Year

I'd like to recommend the following addition:

Biggest grouch

I'd also like to stake an early claim in it by complaining about all these forum awards ceremonies we have year in, year out :p I mean, hasn't the novelty worn off by now?

Life time achievment award????

On a site that hasn't even got past pre-beta yet, that isn't established fully as a site yet and hasn't even been around for a year, where is the lifetime in this?

And much like the OG awards anything negative is a no-no in my eyes simply because it can create a bad atmosphere...also glad to see that the female popularity...I mean bar princess award hasn't reared its ugly head in here, that was a stupid award and all it did was cause major problems.

Best newbie? err well as the site has only been established for less than a year we are all newbies, so I claim that we are all the best :D

I think my main problem is Parvini, your making out like this is a replacment OG...again. Why have awards and say well best newbie won't include people from a different site...this isn't OG stop thinking it is. If you were to host awards then awards should be given to people based on CWF and only CWF

Best newbie, life time achievements don't count here because no one has been here longer than a year so as said before we are all new. and how would life time work, I nominate maz because he has worked hard on this site and has been at OG for a long time making him allowed to be nominated? cos it makes so much sense to nominate someone based on another site.

You haven't created the CWF awards you have simply moved the OG awards here and are saying that OG has to have some baring on who is allowed to be nominated for an award here.

In my eyes anyway, some of the awards make no sense at all. Please stop seeing this place as OG, please start seeing it as CWF. Yes most of the members here are from OG at the moment but that shouldn't mean we base things on how long somebody has been at a different forum. If you want awards base them on the people who are here and this forum. Its fair enough if you don't have the passions for OG anymore, but it seems like all you want to do is judge the members of CWF based upon the fact that most of the are from OG, why should it matter when this isn't OG...base your awards only on CWF or there is really no point to them, and I won't have anything to do with them at all. Its a good idea yes, but not the way that you are wanting to base merits.

Sorry. I may have just took over the position of biggest grouch from you Detective Gumshoe

I'm not against CWF awards, but I'm not sure if it's not too early and if it's not too enthusiastic idea for site which has barely over 100 members and is still in development phase...

I wasnt the fan of OG awards as I'm not the fan of placing some members above others (through voting or not) just because they are more recognizable (sorry for this, but imo best (what means "best" exactly?) one never wins in such contests, always wins most active and the one who has more friends). Contest is for fun of course, but as last year showed there's a thin border between fun and war, so instead of voting for people Id recommend voting for:

-best site feature
-best game on site
-best game off site, but submitted in freeware forum
-funniest smilie
-funniest post in bar

And so on...

Actually Dizi, I have to step up and at least take some of the blame, since I told Parvini that we needed a "best" newbie. This was actually because I for a second was pleased that I had a chance to nominate people like madsolsen and Pater Alf. People I did not know on OG, and has had such a pleasure meeting now. They are hired on this site because of their work (and noone can tell me that I only hired them because of nepotism... this is important to me)
This was of course a mistake by me too, and I take blame for that.

Maybe we should wait with the awards or do an award ceremony like eMTe suggested this year. Honestly we have to admit that award ceremonies like this tend to up the activity and place good fun in the forum, but I can also see a problem with the life-time achievement award. If Maz doesn't win that one...well then it would just seem unfair...

So maybe we should think in the paths along eMTe's thoughts...?
I am up for it.

How about just having one member-related award, that being 'the best member overall', and nominating every single member for that award and to share the trophy? In my opinion that's the only reasonable and unbiased prize for the members; if someone thinks that with everyone sharing one prize it loses its value, I volunteer to withdraw my nomination. Been inactive anyway. :|
