We could use some help, so lets see your favourite char

Here you can talk about anything (that isn't related to the other forums).

We could use some help, so lets see your favourite char

Post by Chroelle »

Ok. We are working on some design-issues, and we would like to see the characters from freewaregames that you would like portraid on the frontpage of this place. Amybe even on top of the forum too. We need a picture of one that you feel deserves it. Maybe you even have more than one...

The screenshot can be cut down in size to show mostly that character, or it can be a situation, that you think is great/humorous/beautiful/"you name it"...

Please post it here, so that we can see what we got so far... Hope to see something from all of you... And it would of course have to be characters from games that are hosted here, or is likely to be accepted...

Cedric below is an example... You might want to leave a little more background than I did though...

may I sugest that you submit a larger picture of your character so that the design team has something to work with. Always remember a picture can be reduced in size and still look ok, but increasing in size makes it look awful.

I know its hard when the models themselve maybe made to be small, but using small all really small characters in this idea may make it look wrong.

Sorry if what I say is a lot to ask for, but if you could make it a good size image then what the designer plans on doing will look a lot better than if they are all as tiny as chroelles example.

Good thing you wrote it Dizi. I actually talked to Madsolsen about it yesterday evening... And I forgot to add that it should be bigger and in the highest resolution possible.

JPG-format reduces the quality of the picture, so I recommend to use PNG-format or lossless JPG. You can see quite clearly some blur around edges if you look close enough for example that geek above.

Strange coincidence Chrolle, because Cedric is the first character that comes to my mind when thinking of freeware gaming...

Other characters (and not only):
-Robert Foster (Beneath a Steel Sky)
-Jackson (No Action of course)
-cars from Trackmania Nations
-Head and Heels
-Pib (Apprentice)

Actually it would be great to gather as much as possible "characters" that symbolize freeware gaming and make sth like this:

Also I am thinking
- Jumping Jackson
- Harald Hårdtand
- The eternal Daughter
- The bike from Street bike fury (maybe flying beside the guy from Super human cannonball)

It seems there are lots of suggestions, and yes the idea was to make a large pic with lots of chars and situations and then find the best piece of it, and make that the banner... Then we could also use some parts of this background for other places on the forum.
