The netherlands and their legalisation politics

Post by Chroelle »

Well most of us know that Cannabis is legal in the netherlands/holland, but I just read that a new party is forming tomorrow opening up the debate for legalisation of childporn and sex with animals...

Their agenda is to legalise childporn and lower the sexual minor age to 12. Their main point being that the current sexual minor age is just encouraging minors to have sex since forbidden fruit tastes the best...

If that was coming from a child-psychologist I still wouldn't believe it, but that it is coming from a person forming a party devoted to legalising sex with kids, is just plain gross to me...

Is this politic of legalisation in the netherlands a concern or a way forward. It seems to me that the country is getting a reputation like: Anything goes if you're in the Netherlands.
I haven't talked to a lot of people who have visited Holland and not stopped by a coffee-shop. I am afraid that the next thing might be that people visit Holland and stop by a children-brothel...

I know the Dutch are pretty liberal, but I can't imagine the majority of the population would be that liberal. Potheads smoking a bit of dope may not bother a lot of them, but I can't see letting perverts molest their children legally under the laws of the land going down too well with most of them. If nothing else, I'm sure the Dutch love their kids too much to let politicians do this to them.

If the age of consent is lowered, and I consider 12 too low as many kids wouldn't have reached puberty at that age, 14 would be better, then it must be only legal for those under 18 (or whatever the age of adulthood is there) so adults can't prey on the teens.

The sex with animals is just plain sick and a gross form of cruelty. I hope the very idea of that dies a quick death. Perhaps the perverts who want this sort of thing legal should be forced to get their mental problems treated. That would be better for The Netherland's reputation.

Well the best part is maybe that there should be a very limited number of pros to this one... So maybe the government won't do politics with them, and that way they get nothing done...

But I do not blame The Netherlands for this, but only the status they have as being a legalising nation, that allows things other countries don't...

I agree with Prideth here.

There is no way any majorit would accept this. Sex with children is something that nearly all cultures condemn and sex with animals is something it's just plain sick - hardcore snuff at it's peak

I talked to a colleague about this today and we agreed that the one positive thing that could come of this is the list of signatures they need to form the party. This list could be used to find people exercising this appaling offense, and though they cannot use the list to get people, they can use it as a pointer of the direction of their investigations, and increminate people otherwise. This might be the only positive thing tat could come from this. Apart from a global condemnation of this idea, to once more make it clear to such people that it is not acceptable.

On theoretical level, we hold the ideas of democracy and personal freedoms quite high around here. One thing that goes with these is that everyone is entitled to their opinions and people can freely go around and talk about stuff. In democratic system, we'll even discuss about all kinds of stuff and have votes to see if enough people support certain ideas.

In my opinion, the pedophiles and other nutjobs (<-- see, i can call them nutjobs. isn't freedom of speech swell?) are free to form their party and push their insane ideas (<-- i can even criticize their ideas! this is so cool!) on the marketplace of ideas. I'm quite sure that the members of this party will get special attention from police, as Chroelle pointed out.

As SGSW pointed out, the majority will not accept their wacky ideas. Actually, not only don't they accept them, but currently people doing these gross and unethical acts are put to jail! Isn't democracy great?

Of course, we who think that those sick bastards should stay away from children and animals need to have good arguments against them and hope there are more people on our side than theirs.

I think, the Netherlands are TOO liberal. I can't understand how can legalise childporn or sex with animals. I think, the Netherlands should STOP. Liberty can't mean, that all ist allowed. Liberty mean that the human has free choice, but can't mean that he can make everything what he want.
I can't agree with opinion, the age for sexual "first time" is lowered to 12 years. That's not right. Not children are guilty but we - adults. We should take care for children and protect they against too early sexual contacts. Such a contact in very young age can cause terrible devastation in child's psyche.
I repeat: I observe the situation in Netherlands with growing fear. I can't imaginate, what will be next...
Pozdrawiam serdecznie, OSH.
