I dont know it, but it looks Americanish.

They cant live one day without violence, strong language and other oddities, on the other side of the water, can they?

Wildguessing. Arseface? :D

No, Arseface is just one of the characters in this comicbook.

And yes, it is an US comic and it is full of violance, strong language and odd stuff. But it's not brainless fun, instead it is a great road movie and a statement about modern America and contains some of the best written comic characters in the last few decades of comic history.

More clueless than I was before. Arseface sounds Google-able though.

Indeed. I knew I had no idea (and not an icecubes chances in hell on guessing it) so I googled it, and now know the answer. Won't reveal though as I want to see if anyone else can guess it. I was considering reading it.

Sure it is probably very clever. The gimmick is, I live long enough to have decent laugh of any form of prudery, hypocrisy, religion, politics, Ive read and wrote enough social commentaries and it simply bores me. I prefer soft comfort, the countrysidish greenery of old Czech cartoons over the depth of South Park's ridicules. I'm not "against", I simply chose to slowly slip into old-fashioned grumpiness.

Just the slight explanation of my comment. 8)

It seems nobody will guess it.

The correct answer would have been "Preacher", the great Vertigo maxi series by Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon. Follow the link and you can read the first issue for free.

Definitely the Pulitzer-Prize awarded "Maus. A Survivor's tale" by Art Spiegelmann.

Pulitzer-Prize awarded, because it tells not only a simple one-of-a-million story about Holocaust, but it tries to cope with troublesome past in general and give it some sort of undercurrent explanations. My granma always refused to talk about her war and prison years and as for my father...just as I was old enough to ask about things I was also old enough to know that asking about his childhood years in prison and past in general, would only make him mad.

Good that he's done.

As for the last one, sure it is niqab.

Yes, it is a niqab. The comic is autobiographical and it is about a girl growing up in Iran in the years after the islamic revolution.

It is Persepolis. I had to Google it out, but I was deeply interested in knowing both what this is and pushing the topic forward. :)

And there's even a movie based on the book!

Yes and the movie is pretty good. Not as good as the comic though, which you should absolutely read.

Looks like a cartoony version of "Valerian & Veronique". But I'm not sure such a thing exists...

...& Laureline. Was she renamed Veronique in Germany?

And what does it mean "cartoony version"... It's the second page of the ORIGINAL first book in the series!

Yes, Veronique in Germany. Many characters were renamed in Germany in the 70s and 80s.

And about the "cartoony": I've never read the series. And when I thought of the covers, I had something more realistic in mind. Seems I was wrong about that. My fault...
