Normally I'd be up for a challenge like that...or at least help take some of the burden off most people...but I must apologize, work has been horrible lately, I don't even like looking at my computer when I get home...

Hopefully, after I'm done one of my current projects at work I'll be able to help with the design of the site more since they have me learning Dreamweaver MX so I can start making pretty webpages for them at work, so as an extension to that I will most likely be learning php as well... :D

YEEAAHHH!

And I really do hope to learn PHP, but the time to do it is very little. I hope to be able to go through some more excersises with it during my summerbreak.

Maybe we can help eachother learning it. And by help eachother I mean you can point me in the general direction and then come get me when I go the wrong way. :D

Just noticed this and wanted to share it with you guys :D

In total 542 user have visited this site today :: 7 Registered, 0 Hidden and 535 Guests , 53 of them within the last hour.

I am simply hoping that it is not all bots :D
I think I need to check where our PW-campaign has been advertising today.

I don´t like to frustrate a happy man, but more than 550 guests visited our site before noon and not a single one became a member?

That leaves me with two possibilities:
a) Our site is of incredible poor quality (and I refuse to believe that)
b) Most of the visitors were bots indeed... :(

Well as long as they got here :D
That means that the passage to our site is becoming more open. (More people are findign us as an option).

To look at the positive sides.

Also the more visitors we have the higher advertisers will pay to advertise here, and the more money I can spend on advertising this site. This means more exposure. I dont think it was bots though, since we haven't had a strike like that before. I think it has something to do with some newly added games. Privateer remake and Buffy might help us a lot. I dont know if Freecol did so much. I will try and look into where people came from.

EDIT: Does anybody know Panini Comics? It is a German site, and it seems we got quite a few hits from there. Maybe we just advertised there or maybe somebody put a link there...

If those "guests" have dynamic ip they are counted as different ones afaik.

Ie: if you visit site site 15 times a day it's likely youll be counted as 15 "guests".

On the other side, I'm not an expert.

Welcome back folks.

That´s me. I put a banner (the one pager created) in my signature on the forums of Panini Comics. But I´m not too active there...

Thank you :D
I seems to be generating a lot of traffic. Remember that even traffic that leads to nothing leads to more advertising.

eMTe I am most likely at least 10 of the guest yesterday, but if we say that the "usual suspects" all came by 10 times yesterday, then that leaves a lot of room still for the (LAst check at 8PM yesterday) 800 guests we got.

Remember, too, that some of those 'guests' are probably google bots. They will crawl your page like that. If I remember right, OG had something like that happen too.

Hi, everyone! Will hopefully have some free time soon. Been dropping by every now and then, but am always logged in when I do.

We have however gotten some new members that drop by and propably downaload a game. Hopefully they will drop by again when I send out a mass-email regarding current status of site.
I tend to send one out every quarter more or less.

Hopefully some of the older members that stopped dropping by often will drop by again too. But hey we are not dying out here, we are simply getting started :D

I decided to start using that same piccie in my signature on OG and DevShed too. Although I am not expecting to have huge rush to the site though :) But it would be really nice to 'meet' some new people, not that I am bored of your faces though :D

I must admit I am getting tired of my face

I agree it would be great to have more active members, but I hope to get some (members - you perverts) when more games are added. Also I think we could do alot with advertising the site on different sites. I am currently pondering if we should reconsider bannerswap with OG-forum. It is now a legal site, since there is no downloads available in the forum if I understand it correctly.

members? oh sure, we all know the real reason anyone would start a freeware gaming site is the large quantity of women that flock to it...

LMAO

C, you dirtyminded git :p
Well, with all respect to the power of freeware, I believe we need some interesting topics to draw people in forums too ;) And some other addictive hooks. Unfortunately I am of no use with those hooks at the moment, It seems I am not even able to update the site that much that one could set game creation year to be 2007  Not to mention fixing the bugs with "platform (not) supported" images in spanek's style and the screeniebug in Maz's style...

Lack of women?
Hey! We have our lovely Darzie Darz :)

mmm... Perhaps it has something to do with the fact that most of us are males? :D
