Haven't heard similar bassline since Milk and Kisses.

My current wife introduced this band to me when we met at 2010. Since then I have been playing their music in my car more or less regularly... I really love their album"the black halo" - which according to Wikipedia tells the story of Goethe's Faust. This song has so strong melody that it is almost corny - and maybe I would hate it, if it wasn't so connected to the times when I met my wife.. Now I simply love this.

I have weird luck of not sleeping when songs like this one are played in the radio.

One of my all-time favourites. It came as a surprise. After releasing catchy, but sonically plastic Please Hammer Don't Hurt'em McHammer recorded this lush, live, motown/funk/soul inspired album. Even slightly psychedelic. If there exists a broadly understood black music subgenre this is one of its peaks. Classic. Living in a World Like This is the best track imo.

And then, for a contrast, Knytt Stories vol. 79.

Vienna Teng - The Hymn of Axciom

First, I thought it was a beautiful song about love, then I read the lyrics and listened to her explanation on what she actually wrote the song about and now it's both creepy as hell and beautiful
The Bible teaches you that thou shalt love thy neighbour. Kama Sutra teaches you how.

I got Sia's album the other day and this song has been running through my head today. The CD is full of dark and sad music, but also beautiful.

I'm now fully sure Morrissey has been singing (unconsiouscly) about a relation of a living being with an outside world.

The Great Abuse stretched the timespace, but quality appears to be invulnerable.

Mark Knopfler as a relativity particle? Why not! ;)

Today (and tomorrow, and Monday!) I'm listening to BBC Radio 1 Vintage.
To celebrate the 50th anniversary of Radio 1, they've created a whole weekend of classic radio shows, retro music, and interviews with any of the celebs that happen to still be around, so many years later!
It's great, and is certainly better than the utter crap that Radio 1 usually plays.. .. Modern "Popular" music that I can't stand!!!

This song is way better than Despacito, got to love the individual voice of these ladies. They are really talented. :Bearhug:

Second part of Domino sounds like the best section of The Lamb. If The Lamb had any good sections except the crawlers.

You may find it funny, me being a fan of a wide range of artistic output, from ancient Greeks to medieval chants, Bach, Mozart, Webern, Beatles, Stockhausen, Kraftwerk, Floyds, Phil Collins, Squarepusher, Camberwell Now to modern agressive rap, and reading a wide range of poetry, but when they sing

"I had a little love/
Now I'm back for more"

it wasn't stupid. I mean, the mastermnd behind this particular piece of lyrics was probably sexist to put these words into mouths of young women, but he wasn't stupid.

Popculture is latmus paper of our mental states.
