Re: The little Inn by the wayside

I've learned that writing isn't for me. Writing games, maybe, but general everyday writing. Not so much. My odd method of adding far too much punctuation, terribly formatted none-paragraphs, and other grammar issues are one thing.. But then.. Then you get to my habit of swearing and ranting, and gen...

Re: The little Inn by the wayside

Sorry.. Had nothing interesting going on, really.. AGameAWeek continues on, in an uneventful way. Coding is going smoothly, games are looking great, but nothing substantial is happening. It's just generally running it's course. Health is similar, in that I'm still off-balance, and too much movement ...

Re: Developing Ramblings

Seems like years since I last posted a Dev-Update.. In reality, it's not been that long at all, but I have been busying away coding somewhat larger games, recently. This week, I've decided to take a break. It IS Easter weekend, after all, and if there's any reason for taking a break, a national holi...

Sounds complicated!
I'm crap at anything electrical, and generally in awe of anyone who can fumble a few bits of wire to make magical things happen!!

Re: Links to freeware games sites and games indexes

Would like to recommend GameJolt.com. They allow users to upload their own games, so it's more freeform and not always great!! For every awesome game, there's 100 "My First Game!" type things. Nnngh. But they've stipulated a 100% freeware rule, and every so often there's a great game that ...

Re: The little Inn by the wayside

I have no issues with people not reading my ramblings. For the most part, I don't even bother posting most of that stuff onto my own site!! It's not what people want to read. But I like to spout ramblings somewhere, and this forum has a nice sort of vibe, so .. I might as well plonk my stuff here!! ...

Re: Developing Ramblings

Yeah, can't seem to get controllers to play nice with browsers. Html5s still not entirely up to "exe" standards yet..
(In addition, I only get 8 audio channels to play with in HTML5!!! Eight!! Octamed on the Amiga could do that!!!!)

Re: Ace Paceman in a Mario Costume

A MAR10 game!!? From MARch 2010!!!! Good grief, this game's 4 years old, already!!!

Yeah, I could probably do a much better job of this if I reattempted it nowadays. In fact... You know what... I might just do that!!

Re: Developing Ramblings

Yeah, the mouse control isn't brilliant. Use cursor keys!!! And, of course it support controllers!!! Works brilliantly on OUYA. Mmmm..... One of the key things I've been trying to do lately, is to fit as many possible control schemes in, at once, as I can. Gamepads, touchscreens, cursor keys, analog...

Re: The little Inn by the wayside

I love forums, but I barely use them anymore. I interact occasionally, but more often than not I tend to take a back seat. Often times when I DO post to forums, I find myself inadvertantly spamming the site in question, or ranting on about myself because... once I start typing, it all starts flowing...

Re: Developing Ramblings

More shooting, as I revisit my old favourite "Tiny Ass"! I loved how the old version worked, but was never quite content at how the controls weren't quite good enough. I've neatened them up, added some music, and rebranded the whole game. Feels like a much more "complete" game, n...

Re: Guess the/talk about TV series

I started watching Castle today. (Recently got Netflix, but aren't really a movie fan... Lots of new shows to watch, though!!) After so many "epic story-arc" shows, lately, it's good to go back to a "story of the week" sort of show again..

Re: Developing Ramblings

Headed back into super-retro territory, this week! http://socoder.net/jstuff/complete/My_Little_Rescue_Helicopter_20140204B_thumb.png My Little Rescue Helicopter I've also sprite-ripped a certain sprite, somewhere in the game!! No idea if anyone'll recognise it, or even remember wtf it is, but it's ...

Re: The little Inn by the wayside

Yeah, it's all getting a little quiet, lately. But like eMTe says, the only way to stop that is to start posting more!! I used to waffle about my health a lot, but lately it's kinda settled into a groove, so it's not really worth me constantly saying "still unbalanced, they still don't know why...

Endless, all randomly generated so it never ends.

Fact : level 3717 of Path A should (*should!*) be a longer version of level 1 of Path B!!!

As for Skateboarding, I prefer Platdude's crazy-man running animation ;)

Re: Developing Ramblings

As a kid, I used to enjoy the original Sega 8-bit title Wonderboy. The version I had on my Amstrad was a simple straight-forward version. You ran along, jumped, and threw things at bad guys. .. So, that's pretty much what I made, this week! A nice and simple little retro game, with all the classic 8...
