Re: The little Inn by the wayside

As long as you raise your daughter with good morals and values, and let her know to treat everyone with respect you would never have her grow up to be someone who can just buy anything. I can't stand the self-important youth of today, every now and then one surprises you, but for the one there are 5...

Re: Are people getting dumber?

Is it really possible to not learn? I mean we're always learning even if we are doing nothing...you're more inclined to learn about doing nothing while physically doing nothing...

Re: Are people getting dumber?

So what you are saying is that our need for intelligence, and our body's defense against that addiction is what will eventually kill us...?

Btw, I had a physics teacher that used to say, "if you aren't willing to open your mind to new ideas, then why bother to wak up in the morning?"

Does this mean that eventually people that walk around with their faces in their cell phones are bound to become psychotic lunatics?

Update from the site:

In 2013 the team took the decision to split the game up and release it as Chapters. Development progresses but we are also recruiting for more talent to join us and ease the workload.

Re: The unit of knowledge

I'm talking about a tree with an "almost" unlimited number of branches that can spur at anyone moment. But only has as many branches available to that person as they can perceive. ie. The branches exist, but the person might not see them.

Re: Julian Assange - what do you think of him?

I think there are things that the world governments do that the public should not know about, and that they are safer in not knowing these things. I thikn there are things that governments say/do behind closed doors that other nations should not know about. The problem here is, when you have countri...

Re: The unit of knowledge

So, basically, knowledge is simply everything that with time is being imprinted in the brain as the activity necessary for survival in society. I would say more in line with survival itself. You could base knowledge on the activity that is necessary, or you could base it more on the steps taken to ...

Re: Are people getting dumber?

Depends how drunker you are :P In this case, not dumber, more ignorant. Ignorance is bliss, until everyone in the world is ignorant. Then it is hell. About once a month my wife almost gets run over by impatient people while waking the dog. My wife does not cross at red lights, she does not j-walk, s...

Re: Are people getting dumber?

Original poorer comment was off topic and just showing how the mathematical formula breaks down eventually. But...the lazier you are the dumber you are isn't really correct, it isn't that you don't possess the capacity to learn, its just that lazy people choose not to because it is too much effort. ...

Re: Are people getting dumber?

Actually we are poorer than our parents due to 1% inflation on life essentials 4 times per year, and a raise in wage of 2% once a year. Eventually the math breaks to pieces and everyone begins to get poorer. By the same standards of 50 years ago, a car should cost about 1/3 of a yearly wage, nowaday...
