I wasn't terribly interested in the game anyway - I was just browsing the games which people had listed - and so when I checked the site and immediately saw .cz I didn't bother going further - the game turned out to be in English apon further examination but the review on it certainly wasn't. I agre...

Are there others? My mistake - the link to the game was a Czech site (which I couldn't understand either) but the game was in fact English - it was the Buffy game Pater Alf had mentioned. Well it is kind of weird the freeware forum. It is simply because it serves so many purposes. All games get the...

I presume this thread is for feedback on the Freeware Games forum topic...? 1. It this forum for the listing of potential freeware games, talking about freeware games or all of the above... it's just easy to miss a game or post because they get buried by other posts... and it gets (to my eye) messy....

It is an oddly addictive game - and completely futile because it's you against unbeatable odds.

The sound effects are awesome too.

I read in the newspaper an interesting point - sales of the Wii were over 34,000 units in the first four days of it being put on the market. This exceeds the Xbox at 32,000. Nintendo is, quite obivously, somewhat pleased ;) Does anybody know anything about the name "Wii"? - what meaning or...

I encountered this sort of thing during my infrequent sessions playing with Amiga, C64 and others, Roms. I actually recall a page which explained these in detail - the symbols mean many things although, needless to say, I can't find that list  They can mean any of the following: A cracked (cop...

And for the sake of argument, I disagree too! :) The differences can hardy be called fundamental - the core mechanics, as you call it, really aren't all that different... both your lists are the same! RTS/TBS Vs 4X: 1. You have units, you attack other units with your units. 2. There's a map, be it a...

The one thing I cant get out of my head is that when you write fun as a genre, then you actually imply that the other genres are...well...not fun! I don't believe that calling one group fun means other aren't. Anyway, it's a moot point. I don't believe that it's a good name for a genre either... Bu...

bite me. A tempting offer, for sure.... ;) :D Actually, I think "fun" is a good way to cover multiple game types, such as board games, sinced these usually involve the interaction between people. This will answer all your questions on what 4X is. However, despite the obvious effort, I pre...

But RTS is defined by all objects and players moving at anytime, while a TBS is based on moving in turns, and is hence much less hectic... True - but if I'm searching for a game based on a theme I would initially start my search as broad as possible. I think it's great to be able to place everythin...

I also prefer 1.5 over 2.0 as far as Firefox is concerned. I became used to the streamlined way in which it all functioned (doesn't like PDF files though but has steadly improved) and so 2.0 seems a step backwards for me. I haven't used IE since Win 95. Looks like it only took 10 years for it to cat...
