Re: Cinema

I've seen a number of movies lately.. most memorably Source Code, which I thought was pretty solid sci-fi. Always liked Jake since Donnie Darko. Kindof a serious sci-fi Groundhog Day would be the best way to describe it. Recommended.

Re: Cinema

I just watched The Social Network, which I thought was pretty excellent. The book it is based on - there is some that say some of it is fabricated and some that don't - but forgetting any of this, just as a movie, it is very tightly directed with solid performances by all involved. If your a David F...

Golden age of freeware over? Sorry but I strongly disagree with that. Actually I don't even think that such a thing really exists. Whenever people talk of a golden age, it just usually refers to the period that contains the best memories for them. I don't think the standard of freeware has ever been...

The best way to keep it fresh would be to measure it during the last month and then base top 10 - 100 game statistics on this. So everyday the statistics would be based on the last 30 days, rather then the older game having an advantage. It keeps it fair. I plan to change my top. 100 to this method ...

Dr. Who - Time Snare

Not sure if there are any other Dr. Who fans out there. I was only a moderate fan myself. Anyways this is a WIP point'n'click adventure (developed in AGS), in which you control Dr. Who. There is a demo available and from what I've played, it seems pretty solid with a Lucas Arts-esque interface, stro...

If there's one thing I've learnt throughout the few years that I've run Planet Freeplay is, its that the best thing that can bring visitors to a site is strong content. It's the best way to build your reputation. You can promote your site to hell and back and beg people to join a forum but at the en...

I just thought I'd chip in with a couple of thoughts. I have to admit I've never downloaded from here before because I have always had other sources to get my games from so I didn't even realise that the policy here was to register before you downloaded anything. If I'd realised, I probably would've...

Yes.. free games tend to be shorter. The sequel isn't.

Congrats to them for getting a commercial project up and running though.

Not that it's not kinda fun for that time, but a trial and error game that's over in five minutes is just not worthy. It's like playing (extremely) poor man's Dragon's Lair. The graphics don't exactly inspire confidence either (so they're made that way on purpose? Bad call). This is a joke, and it ...

I can't confirm whether the author will take up development on this title again, however he has posted in a couple of forums recently confirming further development of his TMNT engine, which this is based on.

I'm sure this has been discussed before but bear in mind that this will probably have to have an eye kept on it, since it is still not complete and they are working on another new version as we speak (sorting out copyright issues though) and even that will not even be close to the final version.

Have you tried e-mailing him about it? His e-mail address is on his website and in his profile at Total Klik.. that's usually the best way to get some answers. If he doesn't answer, he may not currently be active in the community.

You should try JTR the guy that made Death Worm. He is pretty active on the Game Maker forums and I think he'd be more then happy to do one, since I've seen him give one before.

Just an idea.

He's been working on it for quite a long time now but I don't think it is a project he is currently concentrating on. He has stated that he wants to release an enhanced version of the first game, with better visuals, etc, although when this will be is anyones' guess.

If you look on his blog it contains more information regarding this, although he doesn't state whether it will still be freeware or not. My guess is it will be though.
