Re: Heart of Ice
Thanks guys @eMTe heh, not 'deliberately' amateurish, the generally bad art reflects the fact that I did the whole thing myself in the 48 hour time limit. Fortunately for this re-release, a friend made me some half decent music for the game. @Pater Hope you manage to beat it. You may find two-player...

Re: WitchBlaster
Apologies for the delay, new build is up.
http://earok.net/games/witchblaster.zip
Asides from being built with a new version of Monkey, it features a two player mode. Please let me know if it still doesn't work.

Not sure if you're serious about the length of time to finish the translation but, thanks, looking forward to it!

Re: Ask me anything about game development
Thanks Chroelle, great questions! Hope these answers are ok. >Ok, so what is the hardest part about making games? For me, the most difficult part of game development is actually staying motivated long enough to get the game finished, especially when there are no hard deadlines involved. Talking abou...

Ask me anything about game development
Hi all,
Next month I'm going to be on a panel of game developers at a comic convention. To prepare, I am asking anyone to ask me anything about game development. More details on my blog, and please feel free to share this with anyone that might have a question.
Thanks!

Re: WitchBlaster
Ouch, my apologies. I'll see if I can get a new build of the game out in the next few days (The source code is kind of broken as two player is only half implemented). There's been several new releases of Monkey since then so the latest may fix it, otherwise I can ask the Monkey creator about it.

Re: Blow Stuff Up
Also, since Curly's World is so great, here's a little cheat exclusively for you guys. During the game, hold down the keys N-U-K-E at the same time.

Re: Blow Stuff Up
Thanks eMTe. Yep, you can use Notepad or any plain text editor to make the file. When you're done, would you mind pasting the body of the file into here? Or into a PM if you'd prefer?
Also, I'll include instructions like that in the readme, thanks for the feedback.

Re: Blow Stuff Up
Sorry Pater! My bad. I did spell your name correctly in the readme file and announcing blog post though. eMTe, you are absolutely right, I should have put a 'how to play' section in the readme file, and I will on the next release. Blow Stuff Up is very different to virtually any other FPS ever made,...

Thanks guys! * Easy mode. The amount of time you start with, as well as the amount of time you get from de...

The Room Game
The Room Tribute is a brilliant little flash adventure based on the terribly made but highly entertaining cult film. Definitely worth a play, unless you don't want it to spoil the film. NSFW.

Cheers, I did see the other one when I was making sure this hadn't already been posted, but I think I prefer the classic look and feel. I will check out the other one some time.

HERO
HERO is an excellent remake of my favourite Atari 2600 game. Everything - graphics, sound, gameplay, controls - feels perfect. Not really much more to say!

Re: Streets of Rage remake
Looks like this sad story is hitting news sites - http://www.wired.co.uk/news/archive/2011-04/13/sega-shuts-down-streets-of-rage-remake . Definitely not a good look for Sega. That said, the game might not be completely unsalvageable.. if I was in his position, I'd be looking to change the name, artw...

Re: Streets of Rage remake
IMHO, it's not looking good. Copyright holders have completely squashed remakes of games in the past (Such as for Chrono Trigger, Space Hulk etc). I can understand why, from a business point of view they may want to fight this particular remake. - The original Streets of Rage is still being sold, vi...

Re: WitchBlaster
Cheers for the feedback Pater. It can run quite slow depending on system specs / browser / whether you're using flash or HTML5. AFAIK, the optimum setup is the HTML5 one running on IE9. Though I played the native iPad build of it yesterday, and that felt slicker than I've ever seen it running on any...
